Al-Imam Adh-Dhahabi
One of the blessed creatures of Allah that has passed on earth is Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ibn ‘Uthman Ibn Qaymaz at-Turkamani adh-Dhahabi, Shamsu-d-Din, Abu ‘Abdullah; the Hadith Master, the great scholar, the historian, and researching scholar. He was born in the year 673 AH in Kafarabatna, Damascus. He traveled far and wide in pursuit of knowledge.
Imam adh-Dhahabi was one of its kind in Islamic Scholarship. He studied under the tutelage of female scholars and a host of male scholars of his time. Adh-Dhabai contributed immensely to the preservation of the Deen (religion) by authoring what is more than two hundred books, many of which were highly sought-out-for books in all the lands.
