Reflection Time!
Hi guys,
Trust you are doing good. I am doing well too, AlhamduliLlah.
Come closer buddies. It is another episode of Aleem's Compendium. I hope you are already expecting it to hit your mailbox. 😇
It has been a stressful week with so many things to turn in. This week let us reflect on a verse together.
So, let us ride in.
-----------
O you who believe! Fear Allah, and let everyone consider what he offers for tomorrow. And be aware of Allah. Allah knows what you do. [Surah Al-Hashr (59): 18]
Al-Imam AbdurRahman As-Si’diyy commented on this verse, saying: “And this noble verse is the basis for the servant to hold himself accountable (of his actions), and that he should inspect it (his soul) if he sees any flaw, he should rectify it by abstaining from it and make sincere repentance, and turning away from the causes that lead to it. And if he finds himself falling short in a matter of following Allah’s Injunction, he should exert his effort and seeks the help of his Lord in perfecting it in the best of manner, and he should compare between Allah’s Favours upon him and his goodness and his shortcomings, for that inevitably require him to be more modest.
One can learn from the above commentary of Al-Imam As-Si’diyy (RahimahuLlah) that this noble verse calls the curious mind to pause and ponder on his relationship with Allah. It calls it to critique his soul and be wary of what he offers for tomorrow.
The fear of Allah is one of the most expensive possession every sound mind will always strive for. It is with it one can duly fulfil all the Rights Allah Azza wa Jal has on him. It is a strong shield against sinning, and births cautiousness in the heart.
It can also be learnt from the verse preparedness for the Day of Judgement. On that day, you will be a product of what you put forward in this life. A wise one will always take account of his actions and make repentance from where he falls short. It is obvious that as the day passes by, you are moving towards your rendezvous. Only Allah knows when you will breathe your last, so be mindful of the Injunctions of Allah and the Sunnah of the noble Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
Allah asserts that surely, He knows all of your deeds - O mankind - and actions. Nothing that pertains to you ever escapes His Observation, nor any matter of yours, whether major or minor, is ever beyond His Knowledge. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]
Point of Reflections:
🌴 Do you truly believe in Allah?
🌴 Be mindful of Allah in all your actions
🌴 Cut all the links that lead to sinning. Excommunicate friends that remind you of your old filth. Mute that status that plays music into your hearing, uninstall all applications that distract you, waste your time and expose you to nudity.
🌴 Replace all your sinful acts with rewardable ones. Replace music with Qur’an. Replace seeing movies with beneficial lectures from reputable Islamic scholars. Replace the circle of friends that call to frivolities with the circle of friends that engage you with religious discussion, explanation, and so on.
🌴 Hold yourself accountable before you are accounted for.

The Extra
Growth and good manners don't always occur inherently, it's rather intentionally and practically achieved.
